Backstory:

Aerial balloon-mapping image taken over Calumet River in March 2014. From balloon mapping workshop sponsored by the Southeast Chicago community organization Coalition to Ban Petcoke. Workshop assisted by Holden Sparacino and Public Lab. This stitched-together image of black petcoke dust on snowy and icy River was first to show definitively that petcoke was getting into Calumet River.
