Description:

This Water Smartweed plant (polygonum amphibium emersum) was collected by Huron H. Smith on July 26th, 1913 in a “swamp” on the Indiana side of Wolf Lake. The plant has bring pink flowers on a thick naked stalk and has sharp pointed leaves. It is part of the Field Museum herbarium collection #468133.
