Backstory:

This photograph was donated by the Pacini family. Carlo Pacini emigrated to the United States from Northern Italy in 1881 and worked as a grocer. His future wife Amelia would emigrate from Italy a few years later. The family would own a cigar-candy store and a diner in South Chicago and on the East Side. Pictured here is son, Steve. Another son, Emil Pacini, would serve as a city alderman between 1945 and 1963.
