Backstory:

This photo from 1922 depicts the wedding celebration of Josephine Nowak and Edmund Czosnowski who married in South Chicago at Immaculate Conception Church, whose spire appears in the background. The wedding procession took place at 88th St. and Escanaba. According to historian Dominic Pacyga, this photo captures a Kocia Muzyka, a Polish variation on charivari, a European tradition in which merrymakers blew horns, beat drums, and followed the wedding party down the streets, often presenting the bride with a baby carriage.
